At The Smiley Fund, we believe everyone deserves moments of joy — especially young adults, Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA), patients navigating the unimaginable challenges of cancer. Our mission is to provide meaningful escapes through donated adventures, travel, or life-affirming experiences. Whether it’s a dream trip, a concert, or a relaxing massage, we’re here to create space for smiles, hope, and the reminder that there’s still so much life to live.
Please note that recipients are selected through a lottery system, and once you apply, there's no need to reapply — your name stays in our system forever for future consideration.
every smile starts with a referral
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Someone must meet these criteria at the time of referral:

Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) ranges from ages 15 to 39 years old

Diagnosed with cancer within the last 24 months, whether it's a new diagnosis or recurrence

Undergoing prophylactic surgery such as mastectomy and or oophorectomy

Reside within the United States of America
To respect the privacy of those we serve, young adults who may be eligible to receive a "smile" can be referred by:

Family members/friends with detailed knowledge of the person's current medical condition
